Beşiktaş have signed Portuguese players Simao Sabrosa from Atletico Madrid, Hugo Almeida from Werder Bremen and Manuel Fernandes from Valencia.

The new players shared their thoughts with the press one by one in the signing ceremony. Simao Sabrosa said he was delighted to be at Beşiktaş and would spare no effort to make Beşiktaş fans happy. Portuguese centre forward Hugo Almedia expressed his desire to score as many as goals possible in the second half of the season to help Beşiktaş narrow the gap with the league leader. Manuel Fernandes underscored the greatness of his new club and added, “For the time being, I am here for only six months, and I know the difficult task ahead of me. It is not easy to make up fourteen points in such a short time, but I’ll go out there and do the best I can. If we can get a winning streak going at the start, we may change the whole picture completely. In football nothing is over until the final whistle.”

On Day 2 of the Ziraat Bank Turkish Cup, Beşiktaş scraped a 3-2 crucial win over Konya Torku Şekerspor at the Mardan Antalyaspor Stadium.

Besiktas made a quick start and opened the scoring in the 10th minute through a header from Aurelio.  In the final minute of the half , Guti made 2-0 for the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, with a brilliant pass from Qurasema, Fink scored and gave the Black-Eagle a three-goal advantage on 60 minutes. But Konya Torku Şekerspor didn’t give up with Hasan’s 75th minute and Yusuf’s 83th minute goals.

Konya Torku Şekerspor sought an equaliser in the last minutes, but Beşiktaş managed to hold the score and they went to holiday happily.

Beşiktaş visited Eskişehirspor on Turkish Super League Day 16 and suffered a 2-0 upset.

Guti received two yellow card in the first half, and Besiktas had to continue with 10 men for the remainder of the match.

In the second half, Eskişehirspor had the superiority against 10 men Besiktas and they found two goals in the 60th minute and 78 minute of the game.

By the way, Beşiktaş reportedly began transfer talks with Hugo Almeida and Simao Sabrosa. The declaration is assumed to be a sign Besiktas is close to finalizing the deals. Beşiktaş had agreed on terms to sign Manuel Fernandes from Valencia. Fernandes arrived in Istanbul yesterday.

First, Besiktas recorded a 2-1 win away to Galatasaray, and then Besiktas qualified for next round of Europa League with a 2-1 away win over CSKA Sofia. The Black-Eagles’ goals were scored by Zapotocny and Holosko in the second half. And finally, Besiktas beat the last champion Bursaspor at İstanbul’s Fİ-YAPI İnönü Stadium on Sunday. The only goal of the match came from Filip Holosko in the 65th minute.

Despite the injuries and without a striker,  Beşiktaş realized a miracle with 3 consecutive wins. Guti, Ali Kuçik and Holosko were the shining stars of winning series.

Besiktas recorded a 2-1 win away to arch-rival Galatasaray on Day 14 of the Turkish Super League.

A spectacular display of one goal and one assist by  Guti gave Beşiktaş a deserved victory over Galatasaray. Guti, the man of the match, converted a penalty for Beşiktaş after Galatasaray defender Ali Turan brought down Filip Holosko in the box. In the second half, Mert Nobre headed home a perfect cross by Guti and Beşiktaş secured the win.

The Black-Eagles won the match and they have found hope of climbing back to the top of league standings. Bernd Schuster doesn’t like to play a football like played by his team last Sunday, the football in the 60’s, but sometimes, we saw that you have to apply tactics from 60’s in order to win the match.

Beşiktaş’ supporters left the stadium  disappointed after an unexpected home draw with Konyaspor in Spor Toto Super League week 13 at the Fİ-YAPI İnönü Stadium in İstanbul on Saturday night.

In the 16th minute of the game, Slovakian midfielder Peter Grajciar found the first goal after a fast counter-attack to put Konyaspor 1-0 up. Beşiktaş equalised the score with an own goal by Mahamoudou Kere in the 27th and Filip Holosko followed the rebound of Konyaspor goalkeeper Gökhan Tokgöz in the 40th to give the Black Eagles a 2-1 lead at halftime. In the second half of the game, Grajciar scored again the equalizer for the Konyaspor in the 62nd minute from another fast counter-attack.

Guti Hernandez was sidelined in Saturday’s match due to his match ban. Bobo was absent due to his injury. Ricardo Quaresma suffered a strained left thigh muscle and was stretchered off the pitch in the 44th minute. And without this trio (Quaresma, Guti and Bobo) the Black-Eagles were less than ordinary.

Beşiktaş will be facing Galatasaray away in Istanbul derby, this weekend.

In day four of  UEFA Europa League Group L action, the visiting Besiktas held group leaders Porto to a 1-1 draw with a 62nd-minute Nihat Kahveci’s amazing goal. 

Falcao, converted a penalty in the 36th minute, after he was brought down in the Beşiktaş box by keeper Hakan Arıkan, to give Porto a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the 65th minute, a fantastic, an outstanding goal came from Nihat Kahveci from 25 yards out.  This goal was arguably the best goal in all the matches played on last Thursday. His goal was fantastic but also surprising for me after his poor performance for a long time.

Besiktas should have won the match with respect to the performance of our players in the second half of the match. But they failed to turn the score in the favour as the teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate.

On Matchday 10 of the Turkish Super League, the Black Eagles beat visitors Sivasspor 2-1 at the Fiyapı Inonu Stadium.

Beşiktaş made a flying start with Bobo’s goal in the fifth minute of the game.  The starlet Necip Uysal doubled the score with a clever finish from close range on 22 minutes. But, Necip Uysal’s unexpected mistake caused a cheap goal for visiting Sivasspor in the 57. minute of the game. The last minutes of the match were highly thrilling for both sides. While Nihat and Ernst were denied by the post, the visitors came close to equalising through Cihan and Suarez. In the end, Besiktas won the game after losing three straight matches in the domestic league.

Besiktas was the lucky side, because if the last shot had gone in, I could tell you a different story, thanks to the goal post!

The starlet Furkan Özcal scored in stoppage time as Kayserispor beat Beşiktaş 1-0 in a Day 10 of the Spor Toto Super League clash at the Metropolitan Municipality Kadir Has Stadium.

There were some changes in starting 11 of Besiktas. Rüstü Reçber was in the starting line-up for the first time in several months, Onur Bayramoglu made his debut in first 11. Guti and Fatih Tekke recovered from their injuries and they were benched and came in as second-half substitute. Fatih Tekke was in the pitch for the first time for Besiktas.

Besiktas had a lack of fitness and Bernd Schuster was the main reason of the loss. He isn’t trying to use the fit players at hand, he can’t adapt them to his team strategy.  He must stop complaining about the injured players and should try to find a game plan for substitute fit players.

Besiktas has lost three of its last three domestic league match. Things have gone from bad to worse. The fans are expecting the saver: Ricardo Quaresma

Besiktas suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Porto in their third UEFA Europa League Group L match. Bobo scored the only goal in stoppage time for Besiktas.

The Black-Eagles were missing several key players due to injury such as Ekrem Dağ, Mehmet Aurelio, Guti and Ricardo Quaresma. Despite the injuries, Besiktas started brightly and had some early chances to go a goal up, but  strikers failed to finish them off. Falcao scored the first goal of the game for Porto in the 24th minute through the mistake of Hakan Arikan. Two minutes before the half-time, Porto were reduced to 10 men when Maicon was sent off after pulling down Bobo as the last defender.

Everybody was expecting an equalizer goal from Besiktas, but they only watched Hulk’s double in the second half of the game. Porto played the final minutes with 9 men after defender Fernando was shown his second yellow card. Bobo’s goal in stoppage time was a consolation for Besiktas’ fans.
