BeÅŸiktaÅŸ acquired former Trabzonspor striker Fatih Tekke from Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan right on the transfer window deadline. The 33-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Black Eagles, who have agreed to pay the Russian club $750,000 in three equal installments. Fatih himself will receive $1 million per year and 26.67 euros per match as part of the deal.

Let’s look at Fatih Tekke’s career:

Having spent the bulk of his career at Trabzonspor, barring spells at Altay and Gaziantepspor, Fatih Tekke came to Zenit in 2006, he won 2007-2008 Premier Liga championship with Zenit. He lifted the UEFA Cup trophy in 2007/08 UEFA Cup final against Rangers FC. He was selected “man of the match” of the UEFA Cup Final by the UEFA website. And also he lifted the UEFA Super Cup trophy in 2008 against Manchester United. He helped Zenit finished third in the Russian league in 2009, he has scored 25 goals in 72 Russian Premier-Liga games. On February 3, 2010, Tekke signed a 3-year contract with FC Rubin Kazan. He played in 5 games for Kazan, but he couldn’t score. Fatih Tekke scored 30 goals in 91 games in his Russia career.

I can’t predict the performance of Fatih Tekke as a player of Besiktas, but i can say that he is an honest person regarding his statements:

“I’m a supporter of Trabzonspor, but as long as I wear this jersey, i’ll do what suits me for contributing to the team.  I think this team will be successful in Europe. I’ve also come to contribute to it. Hopefully, we will achieve it’

Nice cover. His transfer is a short term solution however i guess that Fatih Tekke will share his experineces to develop Besiktas’s title strategy to get the club forward.

    Thanks for the post..
