Draws? I hate all the draws

Last week our team had another goalless draw against Gaziantepspor ,a game which may sound like another dull one but it was the exact opposite of our last match. The team performed very well in my opinion except a couple of players so i think it is safe to say that we are on the right path and this international break would do wonders for us.
Coach Denizli started the game with a 4-3-3 he prefers most of the time. Our youth system product İbrahin Kas who has just returned to the club from Getafe started at the rightback alongside Ferrari,Sivok and İsmail Köybasi. The defence looked solid as usual with Hakan Arıkan at goal. The three-man midfield of Tello,Ernst and Fink dominated the middle of the park and had good forward runs. Serdar Özkan had a surpring man of the match performance (keep it boy) but our ‘’supposed to score duo’’ Nihat and Holosko went quiet again. Read the rest of this entry »

Damn that was an ugly game and i want to forget it quickly. We,Besiktas fans are used to scrappy games like this as we have never been that much of a pretty team that played free-flow attacking football but this game pushed the limits and we got our second draw in 3 games.
We started the game like a brazilian 4-2-2-2 but since our midfielders are defensive players we had a hard time creating a clear chance against a well-organized G.birligi side. . Read the rest of this entry »

Hello everyone. This is your new Besiktas blogger. I hope to live the good and the bad times of Besiktas together here on this page from now on. The last time a Besiktas blogger posted on this page, we had drawn with Bursaspor and missed a glorious chance to sit at the top of the table. But after that our team had a great run ,winning all except Fener game at home. Then we had our revenge by beating them by 4-1 at Fortis Turkish Cup final ;a cup that the last time they won it, it was 1983! I must admit that the fact that Fenerbahce couldnt win it again doubles maybe triples the joy of this accomplishment. After this encouraging result,we went on to win Turkish league title in a tight race. After all we really needed this one as the last title was won in 2003 and expectations were growing and becoming a huge pressure on the team year by year. Read the rest of this entry »

Last night,our team failed to overcome Konyaspor in an away game and gained a new seasonal phobia called unproductivity out of the field.Match was boring,our football was not effective and negative.We lost very perishable 2 points,as though former Besiktas player Veysel Cihan outraged his limits and collapsed our right wing,showed that Serdar Kurtuluş is having concentration issues,like the whole team.
Serdar Özkan was the only player who showed some determination during the match,who replaced injured Holosko.

After beating Antalyaspor one more time in the leauge,Fabian Ernst have arrived to Istanbul at the last day before the closure of the transfer window.
At last,the main point I’ve been criticising for weeks have been covered.Our team was well organized at the leauge match,and our players were determined,but the defensive mistakes caused by defensive midfielders,who was Edouard Cisse on that match,observed again.As I’ve said many times,Cisse does not have the quality to play on that team.At the beginning,his will was covering his inadequate football ability,but when it has gone,he gave nothing to the team.He is also physically and mentally can not satisfy the role of a midfield anchorman.Ernst can.

Well played actually.Selçuk Dereli was lacking in managing the match as the refree,but despite his effort to ruin our victory,nice football brought nice 3 points.We should have scored more than a single goal,but whatever,at last we watched a full-organized team.
Lets start with our new transfers,their performance,and than criticise the overall.

Actually,I’m an optimistic person.Whatever you say,like optimism is stupidity or else,I’ve always had faith on our team’s title chances for this season.I have tried to avoid criticising based on the scores that team took,we lost against Fenerbahçe and I said,allright,it will be hard to compete with a team on its own field.We lost stupid points,I believed it will be okay,other teams will lose points too.
This time,again I will not criticise my team’s performance based on the score.
But this time,my words are not gentile.

After the sad loss against Fenerbahçe SK in Kadıköy,there’s a silence in the club.The match was not exciting as the fans expected,we have failed to tear down the rock-solid defence of Fenerbahçe,and our opponents have evaluated the opporturnities well,and the loss became unavoidable.Fenerbahçe is one of the strongest teams in Turkcell Super Leauge,so it is not a big deal if you did not play terrible or conceaded over 3 goals.
But the main problem is different.Although the team is not in a bad form,the board under control of Demirören keeping their promising developement of their fussy management over the club.
